I am happy you are here

Welcome! I’m Jazzlyn Hammett (she/her), a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a rich multicultural background, over a decade of education, and 6+ years of clinical experience. My practice operates on the sacred ancestral lands of the Tongva Nation. My therapeutic approach is rooted in ancient Indigenous wisdom, science-backed practices, and a deep love for humanity.

As a first-generation American with Latina and multicultural heritage, I bring a unique lens to understanding the challenges and strengths of individuals, couples, and families. I integrate evidence-based modalities with holistic, time-honored principles that emphasize connection, community, collective healing, and the mind-body relationship — offering care that honors both modern research and ancestral knowledge.

I take a trauma-informed, integrative approach to therapy while prioritizing an anti-oppressive framework.

At the core of our work is the relationship — the connection we build together is the foundation for everything else. From that grounded place, I tailor our work to align with your goals, needs, and pace.

I often integrate psychoeducation with tools and practices from a variety of modalities, including: Relational and Humanistic theories, Somatic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Nervous System Regulation practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT), Psychodynamic and Attachment-based approaches.

When it fits, we may also weave in movement, art, creativity — and humor. Therapy isn’t only about the heavy stuff; it can (and should) include moments of lightness, laughter, and even joy.

This is a space where both of us get to show up in our full humanness.

I specialize in serving the Latine community, BIPOC, and multicultural folks, but my doors are open to everyone. Regardless of your culture, race, sexuality, gender orientation, military status, country of origin, religion, ability, or immigration status, you are welcome here!

Experience & Modalities

If you’d like to learn a little more about me…

I've always been drawn to connection — getting curious about what makes us who we are, what we carry, and how we move through the world. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to support folks in a variety of mental health spaces — from inpatient and outpatient community mental health settings, to adult day programs supporting older adults and their caregivers through the complexities of memory loss and neurocognitive changes.

Most recently, I’ve deepened my work in a group private practice, sitting with individuals navigating a wide range of experiences and identities. Each setting has shaped me, not just as a therapist, but as a human committed to showing up with presence, humility, and compassion.

And beyond all the training and titles, here’s what really matters: I’m here to sit with you. In the joy, in the grief, in the uncertainty, in the numbness — and everything in between. We don’t have to rush or fix. We’ll move at the pace your body and story are ready for.
